Welcome back to all the children and parents, I hope you all had an enjoyable break!
We are straight back into a busy week:
We are starting formal work on number this week and of course we start with the number one. It involves making sets as well as number formation.
This week our sound is /c/. In the Jolly Phonics programme the /c/ and /k/ sounds are learned at the same time as they have the same sound but for now we are focussing on /c/. As always youtube.com is a great place to view the Jolly Phonics stories and songs. Don’t forget to keep using the sounds copies as part of your child’s homework.
We will also be working on some personal history shortly – thank you to all those who have sent in baby photos! They will be returned to you soon.
I will shortly be sending home a note regarding the date of the next PIP meeting. This one will be based on how we teach sounds and writing in Junior Infants. Please return the completed slip as soon as possible. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone there.
Just a reminder that our PE days are Tuesday and Thursday. I was delighted to see every child in their correct school uniform today, keep it up!
This is a quick snap I managed to get while the children were engaged in DEAR time (Drop Everything And Read) Their focus has improved so much in the few months since 30th August!
All for now …
